The educational programs supported by Department of Family Medicine span across all three phases of medical school training. In Phase One, we offer our Culinary Medicine elective. In Phase Two, we partner with Internal Medicine for the Ambulatory Clerkship. In Phase three we continue our electives in Family Medicine, Empowering Physicians-in-Training to Address Domestic Violence, Integrative Medicine, Sports Medicine, Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine as well as our Sub-I.
Ultimately, our educational mission is to support the development of every student as they complete their medical school training and particularly in the areas of prevention, lifestyle medicine, self-care and communication skills that can motivate and establish meaningful relationships with patients. Our hope is that no matter the field a student chooses to pursue that these relevant skills and approaches will be applicable in any clinical setting and can ultimately enhance clinical care and joy in practice.
